COURSE DETAILS
The HND in Software Development and Programming is a Level 5 qualification, equivalent to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s Degree, with an embedded Level 4 qualification, the HNC. This program serves as a stepping stone towards the final year of a Bachelor’s Programme.

An Inside Look Into HND In Digital Technologies

The HND in Software Development and Programming offers a comprehensive curriculum covering Software Development Lifecycles, Database Design & Development, Advanced Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms, Risk Analysis and Systems Testing.
The classes will be conducted 4 days a week with 3 hour long sessions for each unit
Each individual unit carries 15 credits. You are required to secure 240 credits to complete your HND in Digital Technologies
YEAR 1:
Mandatory Core Units:
– Professional Practice in the Digital Economy
– Innovation & Digital Transformation
Specialist Mandatory Units:
6 Specialist Mandatory units would depend on the choosen specialist pathways.
Optional Units:
2 Optional units would depend on the choosen specialist pathways.
YEAR 2:
Core Mandatory Units
– Business Intelligence
– Internet of Things
– Emerging Technologies
Specialist Mandatory Units:
3 Specialist Mandatory units would depend on the choosen specialist pathways.
Optional Units:
2 Optional units would depend on the choosen specialist pathways.
Students are assessed through practical tasks, work projects, assignments and written work during their time on the course.
2 Years (4 Days A Week)
For entry in an HND programme, the student must have at least one of the following in academics
- A level pass or equivalent
- A BTEC level-3 qualification in Business
- Other related level-3 qualifications or recognised equivalent qualification
- An Access to a Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved Further Education institution
- Related work experience (two years or more of relevant full-time work experience). As part of our entry requirements, applicants who may not have the necessary qualifications, may be considered through their relevant work experience (3 years minimum). As part of the application process, applicants will be required to provide a copy of their CV and a reference letter from employers.
The students will also be required to prove their fluency in English language. Overseas students for whom English is not their mother-tongue will need to provide evidence that their English is good enough to keep up with the course. This can be any one of the following:
- IELTS 5.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in both Reading and Writing
- CEFR level B2
- PTE 51
- Or approved equivalent.
All study materials and student handbooks are supplied.
iQualify UK HND programme takes 2 years to complete and is delivered on-campus.
We recommend an average of 12-15 hours study time per week for this programme
In addition to a completed application form:
- Copies of your relevant certificates and transcripts.
- One suitable work reference.
